ABOUT US
Dr Andrew Botha and his family emigrated from South Africa in 2020, relocating to the heart of Northland, in Whangarei. He worked at Whangarei Hospital and in private practice, then relocated to Christchurch and now works at Christchurch Hospital.
Dr Botha started out his career as a Dentistry student in 1996 at the University of Pretoria. After graduating, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Surgery and another in Oral Pathology. He completed his Medical training, as well as Surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pretoria. He Graduated his Masters in Surgery Cum Laude. He completed his Fellowship in OMFS with the Colleges of Medicine South Africa, and was awarded the Medal for best results in the final examination.
Dr Botha published research in peer reviewed journals, including his final year research on Comorbid diseases in patients with Ludwigs Angina. He keeps updated and informed regarding new information and surgical techniques by being affiliated with International associations in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr Botha is also affiliated with FIBCSOMS (Fellow of international board of certification of specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery). Currently oral cancer diploma through AO foundation.
